Lead developer for the museum's web presence: a headless Drupal 10 CMS and a large-scale Next.js frontend that together power the public website, ticketing, membership, and collection-search experiences for a wide public audience.

On the backend, built the museum's search infrastructure from scratch, led the Drupal 7 → Drupal 10 content migration, and integrated the CMS with the museum's Collection Online, Athena, and Aprimo DAM systems — plus a digital-signage API serving an in-gallery Unity display network and a cache-revalidation pipeline that keeps the decoupled frontend in sync with every content change.

On the frontend, built deep-zoom and 3D artwork viewers, a cross-domain Tessitura ticketing integration, mobile deep-linking into the museum's companion app, and two generative-AI visitor experiences. Also designed and built two additional in-gallery digital installations solo, end to end: a touchscreen puzzle kiosk and a photo-matching gallery experience, the latter later hardened against real-world attack traffic.

Also built a four-layer test stack (Jest, Cypress, Storybook, BackstopJS) wired into CI, Apple/Google Wallet membership cards, Shopify storefront integration, and middleware-enforced security hardening — domain allowlisting, rate limiting, and CORS handling — across the site's public API routes.

Web Frontend

Headless Drupal 10 CMS that powers the museum's public website and in-gallery digital signage network, serving content to a decoupled Next.js frontend over JSON:API. Primary engineer since 2022, working across content modeling, search, integrations, migration, and deployment tooling.

Stood up the museum's Apache Solr search infrastructure from scratch, led the full Drupal 7 → Drupal 10 content migration, and built integrations with the museum's Collection Online, Athena exhibition-scheduling, and Aprimo DAM systems — plus the cache-revalidation pipeline that keeps the Next.js frontend in sync with content changes.

Also built the content-modeling backbone — paragraph-based flexible page composition with entity-level validation, Entity Queue-driven pinned content, and scheduled publishing — along with the release automation and multi-environment deployment tooling (dev/staging/signage/prod) that keeps the whole system shippable.

CMS Backend

A touch-first puzzle kiosk built for a museum gallery — four interactive puzzle types built around artworks from the collection, designed and built solo end to end, from initial prototype through the gallery-deployed build.

Includes a custom drag-and-drop timeline, a deep-zoom study viewer, and a map-based artwork trail, wrapped in an Electron kiosk shell with offline asset caching and silent auto-update so the exhibit keeps running through a network outage.

Built as a true kiosk product, not just a web app: boot-time asset caching keeps the exhibit running through a museum network outage, silent auto-update ships new builds without ever interrupting a visitor mid-session, and an internal content-authoring tool shaped the data model before being handed off to the museum's CMS team and retired.

ArtLens Puzzles

ArtLens Puzzles, in-Gallery Kiosk

An in-gallery photo-booth installation: visitors submit a photo, a vision-based similarity search matches it to artworks in the museum's collection, and the result is composited and published to a moderated public gallery.

Built the submission-gallery API, the image-compositing pipeline, and the moderation/notification flow — later revisited to find and patch a set of path-traversal and SSRF vulnerabilities after observing exploitation attempts against the production server.

The vision pipeline embeds the museum's collection images ahead of time and turns each visitor upload into a vector for nearest-neighbor lookup at request time, with bulk import/reconciliation tooling keeping the vector index in sync with the museum's Collection Online API as the source of truth.
